Padel, an emerging sport, has gained significant momentum in recent years. To advance its reach, the Group is proactively organising events and facilitating engagement.
In September, the Group’s Shanghai flagship project HKRI Taikoo Hui organised the Padel Autumn Corporate Tournament 2025. The tournament welcomed 48 teams and a total of 104 players. HKRI Taikoo Hui introduced the fully upgraded PadelU Vision Court, operated with support from PadelU’s professional team. The court featured a panoramic frameless design, and is configured to meet international tournament standards, laying a solid foundation for hosting high-calibre competitions in the future.

To strengthen cross-regional sporting exchange, the Shanghai champion teams took part in the “Discovery Bay Hong Kong x HKRI Taikoo Hui Padel Friendly Match 2025” in Discovery Bay, a leisure and sports hotspot. After a spirited showcase of talent, Shanghai teams secured victory in the men’s doubles, while Hong Kong teams triumphed in both the women’s and mixed doubles events.
The event provided padel enthusiasts from both cities with a valuable platform for competitive engagement, and enhanced local awareness of this emerging sport. With padel set to make its official debut at the 2026 Asian Games, the sport is expected to gain further momentum in its popularisation and development.
