Along the route, the dynamic performance attracted enthusiastic audiences of residents and visitors alike.

The lion dance, which represented vitality and prosperity, infused the community with the spirited energy that embodies the Year of the Horse. This auspicious beginning reflects Discovery Bay’s collective aspirations for growth and success, rising with the strength and momentum of a galloping steed. Building on this festive start, Discovery Bay will unveil a series of exciting events, promising a year of enhanced vibrancy filled with thrilling highlights for all.

HKRI Taikoo Hui’s Spring Festival Programme “DARE FOR MORE DARE TO LEAP”

HKRI Taikoo Hui has unveiled its flagship Spring Festival programme, “DARE FOR MORE DARE TO LEAP”, a celebration that integrated contemporary art with cultural tradition to capture the vitality of the Year of the Horse.

In collaboration with Zelam Lim Studio, the project blended Eastern aesthetics with global perspectives, offering a reinterpretation of cultural traditions through innovative design. Inspired by the Chinese zodiac Horse and the peach both as auspicious symbols, Mr. Lim created the striking “horse-shaped” installations that decorated throughout the mall, immersing visitors in an atmosphere of resilience, hope and joy.

At the LG1 Atrium, five peach shaped installations of varying sizes symbolise the arrival of “Fivefold Blessings”. Against this backdrop, the colourful horses leap among the peaches, embodying progress and upward momentum, while reflecting a vision of exploration and new horizons.

HKRI Taikoo Hui has also partnered with OUTPUT Studio to deliver interactive digital experiences, with animations that respond to visitor movements. In the South Garden, lantern installations highlight the craft of bamboo weaving, as an intangible cultural heritage, combined with auspicious motifs. Auspicious fruits, such as grapes, pomegranates, oranges and peonies are featured across lanterns, doorways and railings throughout the venue, symbolising prosperity, renewal and harmony.

The two hotels under the Sukhothai Hotels & Resorts brand – The Sukhothai Shanghai and The Sukhothai Bangkok – both organised Chinese New Year celebrations to welcome the Year of the Horse. The Sukhothai Shanghai created a festive ambience with a sumptuous reunion dinner, complemented by traditional cultural experiences such as sugar painting, face painting, lion dance performances, and flour figurine workshops. The Sukhothai Bangkok, meanwhile, presented a dynamic lion dance, allowing guests to experience Lunar New Year in a distinctive Thai style.
